Longsheng is located in the northeast of Guangxi Province, to the northwest of Guilin, covering an area of 2538 square kilometers. It is home to more than 10 minority ethnic groups, mainly including Miao, Yao, Dong and Zhuang. With their distinctive customs and unique costumes, the minority villages attract numerous tourists everyday. The distinctive ethnic cultures adding the charming scenery make Longsheng a hot attraction to tourists from home and abroad.

Entering minorities’ villages, you will be amazed by the clothes and accessories they wear. The Yao with embroidered pink costumes, the Zhuang with colored towels on their heads, The Miao with heavy silver accessories, will consist of a special highlight, making you stop to appreciate. The Red Yao women have the custom to wear long hairs since they are very young. People can tell whether they marry or not from the styles of their hairs. In the Huangluo Village, more than 60 women keep their hairs longer than 1meter. They always come to the clean river to wash their hairs in groups, making tourists linger around. The minority women are diligent and ingenious. On Hongyi festival, they will wear the clothes they made to sing and dance.

In addition to minority cultures and customs, terraces and hot spring are the main attractions. As the most amazing terraces in China, the Longji Rice Terraces are hot attractions. Circling around from the foot to the peak of Longji Mountain layer by layer, the Longji Rice Terraces were started to build from Yuan Dynasty and completed in Qing Dynasty, with a long history of 700 years. The development and design of the Longji Rice Terraces reflects wisdom of Chinese laborers. These terraces like silver chains in spring, green waves in summer, golden ribbons in autumn, long strips in winter. The Longsheng hot spring, “holy water” in the eyes of Yao people, spurt out from 1200meters underground with temperature from 45 to 58 degree. The water includes a number of mineral which are good for people’s health. Clean and pure water, charming environment and comfortable climate make it a famous resort for relaxation.

There are many other attractions to be worth visiting, such as Pingan Zhuang Village, Huangluo Yao Village, Huaping National Nature Reserve and Longsheng Hot Spring National Forest Park and more.
