Modern, prosperous and multicultural, Shenzhen is one of the international metropolises. Located in the south of Guangdong province, neighboring to Hong Kong, Shenzhen is the first Special Economic Zone and aims to build to be Hi-tech industrial base, and centre of finance, information, trade and transportation and famous tourism city in 2010. Shenzhen is the host city of the 26th World University Games in 2011 and prepare to show its beauty and uniqueness to the entire world.

According to archaeological research, as early as 1673 years ago, there were human lived in the area. Despite its long history, Shenzhen was not paid much attention by governors in history. It was a poor fishing village until 1980. It was the wise designer of China, Deng Xiaoping who really pulled the city into the way to be modern city, by implementing the reform and opening policy, which has been promoting the whole China’s development. Shenzhen was luckily made to be the first Special Economic Zone, which made the transformation of the old fishing town to be a prosperous city. At that time, Shenzhen was regarded to be the heaven of ambitious people. With the get-rich-quick hopes, people flooded to Shenzhen to build their own business. Being an energetic developing city, Shenzhen did not disappoint them. People realized their dreams and factories bloomed on the area. The vast room of development and favorable policies attracted a large number of foreign direct investments. Nowadays, Shenzhen absorbs a great number of employments every year and providing many job position, making a great contribution to the development of China. Since many foreigners live there or come here for business, Shenzhen is the window of China for foreigners know about China very well.

Different from many other famous cities in China, Shenzhen do not have many historical attractions. But there are many theme parks to make visitors know about Chinese culture and life styles. Home to many distinct immigrant groups, each bringing its own traditions and cuisines to there, which makes Shenzhen real multicultural city and is the key reason why people love the city. Visitors are able to taste each of China’s famous eight cuisines in Shenzhen. Immigrants come for Shenzhen’s prosperity and opportunities but at the same time they return for all the charms of the modern Shenzhen such as buzzing nightlife, music, film, cuisines and fashions. The city’s incredible fusion of different styles, trends and ideas are attracting more and more talented people to arrive there.

With a distinct urban flavor and an abundance of youthful energy, Shenzhen is the landmark of modern China, acclaimed as one of the excellent tourism city, attracting more and more tourists from home and abroad.
