| Throughout the region, temperatures
are warm enough to assure agricultural production throughout
the year. The summer, covering a seven-month period from
April to October, is marked by enervating heating and
high humidity. Winter is mild and snow rare. July temperatures
vary between 27ºC and 32ºC, while January temperatures
range between 4ºC and 16ºC. The north experiences slightly
cooler temperature than the south. |

| Originated in Mountain
Mao'er at Xin'an county northeast of Guilin, Li River
winds its way southeast for about 437 km, passing through
Guilin, Yangshuo, Pingle, Zhaoping and finally meets
Xi River in Wulin. It boasts the largest and most beautiful
scenic area in China and attracts thousands of visitors.The
83-km-long waterway from Guilin to Yangshuo is the masterpiece
of Li River, decorated with rolling hills, steep cliffs,
fantastic caves, leisurely boats and lined bamboos. A
poem says: "The river is a green silk ribbon, and
the hills are jade hair-pins."The cruise along Li
River may be divided into three parts, i.e. the section
from Guilin to Ox Gorge, the section from Ox Gorge to
Water-Dropping Village and the third from Water-Dropping
Village to Yangshuo. |

| The cave is on the northwestern
outskirts of Guilin. It was an underground river six
hundred thousand years ago. The maximum depth of the
karst cave is 240 meters. You may visit a section that
is about 500 meters long. Fantastic stalactites and stalagmites
in the cave are very attractive. |
