Brief Geographic location
 Liaoning Province, situated in the south of northeast China, lies at 18153' to 12546' east longitude, and 3843' to 4326' north latitude. Liaoning is in a temperate zone and adjoins Jilin and Hebei provinces and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and is bordered along the Yalu River by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Climate
 Liaoning province lies in the east of the Eurasian Continent.It features temperate continental monsoon climate with a long winter, a warm summer and a short spring and autumn. The province receives annual sunlight radiation ranging from 100-200 calories per square cm, and 2100-2600 hours of sunlight with average temperature of 7-11 C. It enjoys 130-200 days frost free period and 600-1100 mm of precipitation every year. The annual rainfall is 1100 mm in the east hilly area; while in the west hilly region which is connected with Inner Mongolian plateau, the yearly precipitation is 400 mm. The rainfall in central plain is moderate with about 600 mm per year.

 In the 19th century, it was only a small fishermen's village named Qingniwa. In 1889, people started to build port and city here. Since then the city proper has been constantly expanded. Today it has become an important city mainly engaged in port, manufacture, trade and tourism in Northern China. Its economic strength and people's living has been elevated year-on-year. Since 1992, its GDP has kept increasing at the annual rate of two-digit numbers every year and reached 140.6 billion yuan(RMB), and the per capita GDP reached 3,056 US Dollars in 2002. The city has 10 districts and counties and five introductory foreign investment zones under its administrative jurisdiction, covering a total area of 13,800 square kilometers with a population of 5.9 million. Including 3.74 million urban dwellers.

  Bangchui Island is a small club-shaped island near the seashore. Its highest peak provides a bird's eye view of Dalian and the surrounding azure sea. Its seashore is home to a wide range of marine life, such as crabs, conches, and sea slugs. Tourists can even indulge in a spot of fishing here.This scenic spot lies at the east end of Beach Road. Surrounded by mountains on the north, endless grass, and vast sea and smooth beaches on the south, it is a natural fairyland. Visitors can also view San Sahn Island, misted by dense fog all year round. Here visitors can catch conch, crab and sea slug along the coast.
