The gardens of Suzhou have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognizing them as major repositories of cultural achievement.

The Humble Administrator's Garden is the largest of all classical gardens in Suzhou . It is divided into three parts; the eastern, middle and the western parts. The house lies in the south of the garden. It is centered upon the broad expanse of a lake, making up about one fifth of the total area. With well spaced buildings, the garden landscape and water scape are simple, extensive and natural, possessing the traditional appearances of the Ming Dynasty.

In suzhou, embroidery is very prosperity . Some lived by embroidering. In ancient time, daughters in families were engaged in it as a way of killing time. That's why embroidering is very popular in Suzhou . Suzhou embroidery in Qing dynasty reached its culmination. Suzhou was called the “market of embroidery”, famous both at home and abroad.
