Amusing Remarks of Kashgar

Kashgar
Kashgar,4000 kilometers from Beijing, is situated in the southwest of Xinjiang. It would take up to six months to reach Kashgar from the capital at Han dynasty. Kashgar is the first point of arrival on land routes from Pakistan and Kirgyzistan and vital stop on the Silk Road. The old town maintains its charm. The markets are a riot of color and exotic scents, donkeys pull rickety carts laden with watermelons and cotton bales in and out of town, gray-bearded mullahs call the faithful to prayer on every street corner, and serene old men enjoy long chats over tea. Kashgar feels, looks and even smells dramatically different from the rest of China, more so than any other city in Xinjiang. The most population are practicing Muslims and Uigur bazaars, tea houses. women choose to veil their faces.
Sunday Bazaar
You can not miss visiting the Yskshenba Bazaar, also known as the Sunday Bazaar,
at Aizilaiti Lu. It is the mother of all Bazaars. Farmers from out of town will congregate by their donkey carts just to hawk their wares at the famed Sunday Bazaar. The visual spectacle of people, animals and items of every imaginable shape, size and function will send your cameras into overdrive.
Food of Kashgar

Tuck into delicious meat pies called daman or gosh gird in Uyghu. It is a Kashgar specialty and is great for breakfast. Pilau, rice with lamb and yellow peppers and shashlik kebabs are perfect for lunch. Hot-from-the-oven Uyghur naan flatbreads which has over 50 varieties, sprinkled with sesame seed are made for tea. Finish off the day with laghman – wheat noodles in a thick spicy soup of chopped mutton, peppers and tomatoes for dinner.
